The founder of Chelas Mexican Kitchen, Karla Vasquez, has been a part of the SoCal community for decades. That sense of community is part of what drove her to create a welcoming and comfortable space for people to dine.
Karla came from El Salvador as a child and was welcomed by her neighbors and classmates. That warmth inspired the idea behind creating a kitchen, to repay that warmth to the very families and neighbors who welcomed Karla and her family to Southern California.
Fresh Ingredients

That’s why we use locally-sourced ingredients so they are as fresh as possible. That is also another way to show our appreciation for the community around us. We serve up the ingredients you make locally on farms and markets.
