Chelas Mexican Kitchen was founded by Karla Vasquez in 2011. Karla was born in El Salvador before her family immigrated to Los Angeles, where she was raised. Her family not only brought her to California, but they also brought their heritage through food and tradition along with them.
That food was delicious enough to inspire Karla to open a restaurant serving the food she enjoyed as a child at home. These recipes originate from a Mexican household, refined by the opportunities of California.
